A plan to manufacture automobiles, instituted by an out-of-town investor named McKay floundered through lack of funds. Alfred Bennett, who had provided a shop and materials, completed the one vehicle that had been started and test-drove it once from Essex to Harrow, Ontario and back. The vehicle had too weak a frame and Bennett abandoned automobile manufacturing. |
