A subsidiary of the Detroit company, Dodge Brothers Canada Ltd. assembled Dodge vehicles from imported components until about 1924 when the operation was moved to Toronto.

When the founders, John and Horace Dodge, died in the Unites States, their widows sold the company to the banks. The company was acquired by Chrysler in 1928 and the first Windsor-built Dodges were produced in 1929.
