The Canadian headquarters of this Toledo, Ohio, company first appeared in Hamilton in 1914 where it experienced initial success followed by a shaky period during and after the depression. In 1934 it moved it's headquarters to Windsor, Ontario and by 1953 American Industrialist Henry Kaiser took over the organization, eventually renaming the company the Kaiser-Jeep Corp. Assembly of vehicles, including Jeep CJ and Gladiator Station Wagons, began in 1959 but ceased in 1969 when Kaiser-Jeep was taken over by American Motors. |
