In 1910 Frank Mount of Chatham took over a Defiance Iron Works foundry on Lacroix Street and reorganized it as the Swift Motor Car Company of Canada Ltd. Mount reportedly built a few Swift Car prototypes in 1910 before giving the Foundry over to the Walker Motor Car Co. later that same year.

The Walker Motor Car Co. intended to produce the Walker 6 automobile although there is no record of production. In December 1910  they relocated to Chatham, Ontario, taking over the foundry of the failed Swift Motor Car Company of Canada, Limited (1910). The Walker Motor Car Co. did not produce a car.
