Canadian Association for Williams Syndrome
"The association evolved from a parent support group in Vancouver, B.C. in 1984. It exists to provide support and assistance to families with a child affected by Williams Syndrome, a network and ‘family’ for adults with Williams syndrome and to actively support research into educational, behavioural, social and medical aspects of the syndrome." This Foundation was formed "with the twin aims of research, and the help and support of families with affected children." This site offers brief information on the nature of this syndrome, including diagnosis, treatment and research information. However one of the most appealing features on this site is the list of guidelines. These guidelines, in the form of pamphlets, are detailed and informative, and deal with parent-child relationships, teacher-student relationships, and adults with Williams Syndrome facing employers / professionals.
