This association is committed to helping children with IBD and their families better understand the disease. PCCA web site provides articles dealing with some of the pediatric issues of IBD. TWC provides an excellent resource for teens. Although this is a teen targeted site it’s audience should not be limited to this age group.Here you will find a chat room, a message board and suggestions to other links. It is updated weekly by the webmaster who has Crohn’s disease. This site offers a global support network that deals with relevant issues such as dining out, depression, travelling, friends and family and the hilarious lighter side of Crohn’s. The recipe section looks decadent.
The Pull-thru Network
This is the homepage of a support and resource organization for families of children with ‘pull-thru’ surgeries. There are articles written by parents and health care professionals that live and interact with these special children. Some of the articles that were reviewed dealt with the self-esteem of a child, anesthesia facts, dealing with the medical profession, and dealing with the siblings of special needs children. There is a listserv and chat room at this site. The medical dictionary helps to explain technical medical vocabulary and tests.
