International Harvester truck from the 20s

1920s International Harvester Truck built in Chatham.

International Harvester purchased the Chatham Wagon Works in 1910 for the manufacture of wagons and sleighs and in 1922 began producing International trucks there for the Canadian market.

In 1940 a new multi-million dollar manufacturing plant was opened at Chatham replacing the old Chatham works. The plant has been expanded twice since its opening and is today the largest and most complete exclusive medium and heavy-duty truck manufacturing plant in Canada.

The company name was changed to Navistar International Corporation Canada in 1986.
